For about the last 5 years, I have managed operations, delegated responsibilities, overcame challenges, and designed missions, policies, and procedures that improved Chattanooga’s ability to combat domestic and global threats. A great deal of this involved working with and training local and federal partners (e.g., Department of Justice), and employing joint training ventures to reduce criminal activity and improve operational capabilities. As Resident Agent in Charge, I supervised 20+ employees, including the Senior Leader – Task Force Commander, charged with administrative, operational, and investigative responsibilities with effective training and performance feedback that strengthened morale and improved productivity. Together, my team and I enhanced DEA Chattanooga office capabilities by directing a $2.6M new office build, earned buy-in from government facilities management, and coordinated private contractors. I created the first-ever mentoring program and recruited new personnel to staff and improved small team performance. Furthermore, I ensured operational continuity by authoring and executing emergency response and contingency plans.

While I moved quickly through this role, I accomplished quite a lot, including gathering and processing evidence to locate, detain, and prosecute violators of drug laws for things like distribution, pharmaceutical, and cyber and money laundering. I maintained and upheld appropriate codes of conduct during investigations, leveraging a lead-by-example motif that encouraged increased cooperation from local, regional, and worldwide multi-agency operations. By leveraging integrity and industry expertise to explore alleged conspiracy activity and conduct long-term investigations, I championed the arrest and conviction of several of Chattanooga’s largest illicit drug distributors. I was also instrumental in bolstering local response to heroin and fentanyl epidemic. As a member of the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, I enhanced the nation’s drug-control efforts by coordinating among local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies to improve counterpart cooperation and participation. I also coordinated and oversaw $76K HIDTA operational and equipment budget used for improving officer safety, surveillance, and data analysis.

Conducted large scale domestic and International investigations targeting drug trafficking organizations. Worked with foreign, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to seize millions of dollars of proceeds and assets derived from the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Management and oversight of Royal Thai Police Units in northern Thailand. Coordinated training for host country law enforcement. Oversight and coordination of multinational investigations.

Honolulu, Hawaii, United States

Partnered with the Honolulu Police Department while serving as a member of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force. Prepared court documents including electronic surveillance affidavits, Title III affidavits, search warrants, arrest warrants, and criminal complaints in support of domestic and international investigations.

Member of multiple High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) task force groups tasked with conducting high-level narcotics investigations within the Chicagoland area. Operation pipeline responsibilities included interdiction efforts along inner-city and suburban transportation routes. Targeted local and national gang leadership in effort to reduce violent crime within the city.
