Predicted radiated noise signatures of SEAWOLF Class Submarine under various machinery operating conditions. Analyzed mechanical components’ acoustic and vibration levels for compliance with SEAWOLF Class submarine specifications. Wrote noise test procedures and noise procurement specifications for hydraulic, freshwater, and seawater pumps and piping system components. Responsible for the acoustic requirements of the following shipboard systems: Internal and External Hydraulics, Electronic Auxiliary Freshwater, Chilled Water, Gravity Drain, Trim & Drain, Torpedo tubes flood & drain, Depth Control, and Internal Auxiliary Launcher. Invented new fluid piping throttling devices with silencing technology resulting in a 30 dB noise reduction over conventional valves. Formulated new theories for the analysis of equipment hard mounted to shipboard structure. Created report documentation standards for SEAWOLF component acoustic structureborne and liquidborne needline analyses. Provided on-site noise and vibration testing services to suppliers of submarine component machinery.
