Provide IT support for a small, global business based both in the UK and overseas. User support covers more than 35 employees in 4 countries. Recently migrated from on premise to Office 365. Main duties include:• Identify and repair common hardware and software problems on Windows desktops • Deploy new and rebuild existing Windows desktops as required • Asset management for the business • Daily management of the servers (physical and virtual) including backups and file permissions • Manage accounts through Active Directory • Keep documentation up to date • Configuring, maintaining and supporting desktops, printers, Cisco phone system and laptops • Purchasing of new hardware and software • Logging calls with our IT Suppliers by means of email or telephone and working with the suppliers to implement fixes and problem resolutions.

Responsible for the operation and smooth running of the firm's IT infrastructure. This includes the telephone system, desktop PCs, servers, Internet & email, database administration and any other IT hardware.Other duties include:Designing procedures to make the IT system run more smoothly and efficiently, and implementing them across the firm.Identifying and resolving problems with hardware, software and the network generally (including Internet and e-mail) and/or assisting in their resolution with other members of staff and/or our IT suppliers and/or IT maintenance support contractors.Logging calls with our IT Suppliers by means of email or telephone, and working with the suppliers to implement fixes and problem resolutions. Perform routine backups and archival of files stored on the network to assist with disaster recovery.Introducing and conducting staff IT training to maximise efficient usage of all IT equipment on a continual basis.Keeping up to date with and advising the Partners of all IT developments and emerging technologies which might assist the Firm and advise the Partners generally about IT matters.Dealing with our IT suppliers and engineers, and with the purchase of all IT related supplies.Assisting with all other matters arising in connection with the use of computers and related machines within the office, including marketing.Running projects in connection with our external suppliers such as to choose new software.

As member of the Information Services team, we provided IT support for over 250 users in-house, European and Asian branch offices. Being the first point of contact, my role primarily involves dealing with all enquiries by telephone, email or via the helpdesk support system. This also includes entering all requests on to the helpdesk system and assigning calls to the other members of the team. Other duties include:Solving problems over the phone, remotely or at the user's desk.Troubleshoot software and hardware issues.Provide support for Microsoft Windows XP, 2000, 98 and Office 2000.Creating new user accounts. Purchase new software and hardware.Ensuring the antivirus software is up-to-date on user PCs and servers.Backup server rotaKeep records of and prepare instructions for remote users.Configure, install, and upgrade PC/Laptops.

Responsible for the assembly, build & calibration of the measurement devices (transducers) fitted to Instron's servo hydraulic and electro mechanical testing machines.

Machining parts and assembling CNC routers.
