Studying structures for solid-state electrolytes for lithium and sodium ion batteries under principal investigator Dr. John B. Goodenough. Doping crystal structures in an attempt to create sodium ion vacancies. Solid-state electrolytes open up various possibilities for battery materials, capabilities, and safety characteristics. This position is unpaid, and is provided through a program called Women in Engineering at UT Austin.

In this project, my team and I designed, built, and tested a prototype for a vehicle locking mechanism for a wheelchair for a client in the Austin area. Using compromise, teamwork, verbal and visual communication skills, and basic CAD and sketching techniques, each member made their own design, and the designs were effectively compiled to make one final design. The prototype was built and tested to make sure it required a small enough activation force that the client was easily able to use it. This program was unpaid, one semester long, and was provided by the mechanical engineering department at UT Austin.
