Founded in 1946 in Bönnigheim/Germany, Hohenstein is one of the leading independent and accredited testing and research service providers with roots in the textile sector.
With a total of around 1200 employees in more than 40 representative offices worldwide, Hohenstein supports international clients all along the entire production chain.
Core competence is the textile testing and certification, with focus on harmful substances and textile technological testing. Long standing expertise consists also in fabric care, fit testing and pattern development. Product awards as the "Hohenstein Quality Label" or "UV Standard 801" support manufacturers and retailers in marketing their tested and qualified products. Due to the quality assurance and production monitoring, product legal compliance can be ensured by Hohenstein. As a founding member of the OEKO-TEX® Association, Hohenstein offers the entire OEKO-TEX® portfolio of certifications and labels for sustainable products and facilities.
In addition to its service offer, Hohenstein provides several work areas for research and development of textile products and applications, including contract research as well as publicly funded research projects.
The knowledge linking of experts from various sciences enables successful, interdisciplinary collaboration with other research institutions in fields of medicine, electronics and microsystems technology.
