PeaceGold™ is a ground breaking peace building and social enterprise dedicated to turning gold into a product that creates peace and prosperity for the communities in conflict affected Ituri Province eDemocratic Republic of Congo. PeaceGold is a grass roots way of reversing the mineral curse in eDRC through the establishment of a focussed group of social enterprise companies. These companies, working in a collegiate way with civil society peace building organisations, will create a virtuous circle that drives the value of gold back into peace building, reconciliation, demobilisation activities, as well as community development. PeaceGold will put clean, green (mercury-free) gold into the international markets in a form that will enable, refiners, goldsmiths and jewellery brands to purchase and use in businesses.
