The final part of a standard day in this position was creating a daily sales report that is sent to the area manager, this will involve an analysis of the days trading, as well as data such as our sales figure, how they compare to our comp and our target, and the customer conversion percentage. Both of these brought different challenges. At the petrol station I would be serving customers similar to being on the checkout but I would also have to ensure that the pumps were armed ready for a customer to receive their petrol. The Chilled department was very different as the main focus was making the stock look as neat and as full as possible. This would be achieved via our regular stock rotation checks. This would involve filling stock and making sure the oldest dates were the furthest forward. This is done in an attempt to reduce the stores wastage figures and maximise profit. Show less
