As a Consultant, I leverage my dual expertise as a Certified Midwife and a Patient Expert in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Cardiac Transplant, and Heart Failure. I have over 15 years of experience in clinical healthcare, patient education, and research evaluation, working for and volunteering with cardiac nonprofits in the U.S. and the U.K.My passion for improving healthcare stems from my personal journey with HCM, which led to a surgical myectomy, an implantable defibrillator, and a cardiac transplant in 2018. I use my unique perspective and insights to advocate for others with HCM and those going through the heart transplant process. I also collaborate with HCM medical teams and experts to coordinate innovative projects and initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and quality of life.
