Andrea believes organizations can achieve extraordinary results when the right people are deeply engaged and collaborating on the right work – and that effective people practices can foster shared purpose, impact, and an environment for success.In her various roles, Andrea has been responsible for driving people leadership, management excellence, and organization effectiveness. She has gained unique expertise in collaborating with teams and leaders to define foundational talent philosophies -- the underpinnings that guide decisions about people -- then embed and align those commitments into organization culture and people practices. Andrea is currently the Chief People Officer at Ballmer Group, leading the People Team to enable the talent, culture, and people systems across the organization, supporting Central Offices, Philanthropy, and USAFacts to achieve their missions.Previously, Andrea served as Vice President of Human Resources at GH Labs, a mission-driven organization created by Gates Ventures. Prior to that, she worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where she created and delivered enterprise-wide talent development programs and resources and partnered closely with the Global Health division, who like GH Labs, are guided by a commitment to health equity and to advance global health priorities. She learned and applied progressive HR practices in organizations known for servant-leadership, innovation, and people development in early career roles at Starbucks and Cranium. Andrea holds an MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Education from the University of Calgary.
