The Heart of the City Executive Committee is an elected committee, consisting of members who either work or own a business located within the CBD boundaries, along with a representative from the Waitemata Local Board. The role of the committee is to provide the strategic direction of Heart of the City.

Responsibility for all operational activities of the static property portfolio. This encompassed 16 CBD office buildings in Auckland and Wellington having a value of c$1.6 billion, over 300,000 m2 in occupied area and over 300 individual clients.Significant achievements were the formation and development of a core management team dedicated to a relationship based culture, improving operation performance through occupancy from a low of 89% to 97% (at 2014), retention of key corporate occupiers in the Wellington market, evaluation and instigation of a portfolio wide seismic improvement program, development of a formal environmental performance strategy and improving internal reporting, analysis and decision making capability.

Landco (subsequently Todd Property) is a significant New Zealand owned land company, being a private investment vehicle for Todd Capital, with interests in land development, farming and viticulture. The land development business, for which I was responsible, encompassed large scale master-planned residential communities at Stonefields and Long Bay in Auckland estimated to deliver over 5,000 dwellings.

Kiwi Income Property Trust was New Zealand’s largest diversified property company/trust having an asset base of approximately $2.1 billion. A newly created role, Manager - Projects & Acquisitions, had responsibility for the commercial assessment, feasibility and financing issues in respect of investment opportunities and portfolio rationalisation.

Following roles as Senior Valuer and Associate Director, I was promoted to the role of Senior Director being responsible for the valuation business of CBRE in New Zealand, reporting to the New Zealand Managing Director and Regional Director in Sydney. The role encompassed responsibility for providing professional advisory services to clients, business development, financial management and human resources.
