HVAC Technician. Role is primarily preventative maintenance based on commercial rooftop style equipment. There are some split units as well, but RTU’s make up the majority of our workload. We perform PM’s on a number of commercial customers. During the PM’s we write up recommendations for repairs. Then a quote is created based upon our recommendations. The goal is to have as few emergency service calls as possible. I have completed the whole process of several types on compressor changeouts. I deal with several types of electrical motors. Leak check and repair is a common occurrence in the summer time. I have worked on new unit installs. As of May 2024, I will be certified to commission new Lennox equipment.

I currently work at Wordage Coatings in Lafayette. I work in the maintenance department. My boss and I are the only maintenance for the entire factory. He was a union electrician with Twin City Electric in Lafayette for 15 years, and has taught me a lot. This being said, there is a wide variety of roles I partake in as well as a vast amount of knowledge I gain on a daily basis. Combine this with my thirst to grow my skillset in every direction, and I put myself in a good situation. I've done everything from remodeling the locker room, to installing new machinery including running all the conduit and 2" cpvc cooling lines. I have experience installing and programming ABB Variable Frequency Drives to control motors on gearboxes. I have developed personal relationships with sales reps and technicians from ABB. I have experience with Class 1 Div 1 devices that are required in explosion proof environments. And intrinsically safe controls that operate on a low voltage and a 5-20ma signal that will not cause a spark when used. I also have experience with HVAC. I have a EPA 608 Universal certification. Although I have work and life experience besides my current job. I believe everything I’ve learned at Worwag Coatings is what have excelled my knowledge and experience.
