After the acquisition of WH Energy and upon formation of a Smith International fifth business unit, Completions and Production, I was appointed Senior VP of Completions for the management of the Completions product line reporting directly to the CEO.Prior to this I was VP of Operations Management of all business and product lines for Smith Services in the Eastern Hemisphere. I joined Smith International after the acquisition of Wilson Industries and was appointed VP of Business Development, an executive staff position, for the management and direction of the business development and marketing functions for the Smith Services Business Unit.

Area Operations Manager, Guangzhou, China.Promoted to this position to supervise the new operations in China prior to the formation of the Joint Venture Company between Magcobar Mud Corporation and China – Nanhai West. Manager, Sales and Engineering, Libya.Commenced as a drilling fluids engineer providing well site supervision of drilling fluids in the land based drilling areas of the Sahara desert. Promoted to Area Engineer and subsequently to Manager, Sales and Engineering. Successfully negotiated the enforced Manpower Nationalization Program and evacuation and replacement of all US personnel due to the US/Libya confrontation in the Gulf of Sirte.

Co-ordination of the sales and marketing function of all refined fuel products to the industrial sector of the UK market. Later, specializing in lubricants marketing including the co-ordination of the importation, blending, manufacturing and distribution of over 800 specialty lubricant oils and greases to all the UK markets.
