The Business Systems Lead role is responsible for the establishment and maturing of the Major Projects Divisional Business Management and Project Management systems. In this role, I will lead an expert team to ensure these foundational systems are underpinned by a continuously improved suite of standards and frameworks, a comprehensive business process architecture, and a procedural maturity that will enable Powerlink to efficiently and effectively deliver a portfolio of Major Projects.Key accountabilities include:• Development and embedding a Project Management Framework, defining the project management requirements, deliverables and processes to identify, develop and safely deliver major projects throughout the lifecycle.• Development, deployment and management of a comprehensive suite of controlled documents (Policies, Strategies, Frameworks, Standards, Specifications, Procedures, Plans, Guidelines, Work Instructions, Templates, Checklists and Forms) that underpin the Business and Project Management Systems integral to the running of the Major Projects Division and delivery of the Major Projects Portfolio.

Founding Director of specialist project management certification, audit, and training development business. Clients include organisations and individuals across the construction, defence, resources, public infrastructure, and other commercial industries in Australia, and principally, the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).• Accredited competency assessor for the AIPM Registered Project Manager (RegPM) program, licensed to assess all levels from Project Practitioner through to Portfolio Executive.• Principal architect and author of the current AIPM Project Manager Competency Standard (CPPM) and associated process documents (such as record books, user guidelines, etc).• Senior Assessor for the AIPM Endorsed Courses program, through which providers of project management education can submit their courses to be assessed for independent peak body endorsement.• Assisted numerous organisations and individuals to enhance their competitive advantage through professional development, validation of transferable skill sets, workshop facilitation, and development and delivery of ‘for-purpose’ training and certification programs.

Recently completed a PhD research project titled, 'The project management office: critical factors influencing selection and deployment decisions in Australia' (conferred on 12 December 2023).The thesis focuses on critical factors influencing Project Management Office (PMO) selection and deployment decisions in Australia. The research addresses the challenge of contradictory theories on PMOs and their practical implementation. Through a pragmatic-interpretivist research paradigm, it explores the complexities of PMO selection and deployment in Australian contexts. This work presents a novel framework for needs-based PMO selection and a 'normalised' typology, offering valuable guidance to senior managers navigating the world of PMOs and aligning them with organisational strategy.Concurrent activities within the UniSA Master of Project Management program:• Ongoing development and delivery of post-graduate courses (online and on campus), including 'Principles of Project Management' (Graduate Certificate in Project Management), 'Project Management in Professional Practice' (Graduate Diploma), and 'Portfolio and Program Management' (Master of Project Management) - each attaining above-average KPIs for student satisfaction.• Certified reviewer for the UniSA “Summative Peer Review of Teaching” program.• Supervision of numerous individual students undertaking Masters Degree research projects.• Leading and co-authoring more than 3 dozen research projects for conferences, journals, and book publication.

Recruited to provide academic leadership to UniSA’s online post-graduate Project Management program (delivered through Open Universities Australia), to lead the program team, promote a culture of scholarship and excellence in teaching and student-centred learning, and facilitate a team-based approach to program management.• Expanded the program from a Graduate Diploma to a fully-online, international Master’s Degree, entailing multiple specialisations, and increasing overall offerings from eight to twenty-nine units for student enrolment, and achieving >140% growth in student enrolments and proportional net revenues during the contract period.• Conducted comprehensive internal audit of course aims, objectives, and assessment design across multiple degrees, and oversaw the re-alignment to satisfy Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) specifications for levels AQF 8 and AQF 9.• Led the inaugural external endorsement process with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), including working with UniSA professional and academic staff teams to compile, develop and present documentation for unconditional endorsement.

Delivered acclaimed post-graduate 'Principles of Project Management' course on campus in Adelaide and off-shore in Vietnam, and inaugural development of fully asynchronous online model for Open Universities Australia.

Project management and team leadership for the detailed planning, design, procurement and contracting, commissioning and handover of government infrastructure projects; developed and delivered organisation-specific, project management maturity and competence enhancement programs for a broad range of clients.• On-time and on-budget delivery of water infrastructure and environmental projects for SA Water, including contract management and stakeholder engagement with indigenous and local communities; aggregate value approx. $220million• Assisted numerous client organisations to streamline their project processes to facilitate efficient project delivery, including training needs analysis, curriculum and methodology development, and training program delivery.
