Current• Act as HR Specialist (GS-12 equivalent) for Personnel, Compensation, and Benefits processing at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).• Serve as expert resource and authority on coding and processing of personnel and payroll actions using EmpowHR and additional National Finance Center (NFC) systems in accordance with OPM’s Guide to Personnel Processing (GPPA), agency policies, etc.• Process Requests for Personnel Action (SF‐52s) and packages in the History Correction Update Processing System (HCUP) for transmission to NFC for inclusion in the Payroll/Personnel Processing System (PPS).• Investigate, troubleshoot, and respond to a variety of recurring and complex inquiries regarding payroll and personnel matters; review NFC screens to ensure accurate record implementation and payroll disbursement.• Communicate with agency managers and HR staff when errors or discrepancies are identified to obtain necessary information/documentation/corrections to process personnel actions accurately in a timely and compliant manner.• Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and control procedures are compliant with audit and contractual guidelines while verifying/entering records in the payroll/personnel system.• Conduct quality reviews to determine the accuracy of payroll data entered in all payroll/personnel systems (i.e., final lump sum payments (annual/restored, comp and credit hours), biweekly comp and credit hours, canceled payments, restored leave payments, annual annuity adjustments, and etc.).• Provide tracking status reports each pay period on personnel actions, suspense errors, and other outstanding items for personnel/payroll actions that require resolution.
