I am a writer, reporter, and editor with over ten years of professional experience in journalism. Working in D.C. since 2013, I've followed the machinations of the political town, observing how that process shapes the debates and outcomes of policies around the country. For the past four years, I've worked at Bloomberg Industry Group, assembling daily newsletters for a Congress-focused audience on transportation and technology policy as well as a legal audience on tech and privacy. In my previous role with CityLab, I helped create the site's flagship daily newsletter, and wrote stories about transportation and urbanism. My writing has also appeared in The Atlantic, TIME, Popular Science, PBS NewsHour, and NPR.My most valuable strength is my ability as a pinch hitter, someone who can turn around and learn something completely new. I've done this by adapting to jobs that require different skill sets, from audio recording and television production to deep archival research and data analysis to fast-paced writing and editing for the web. I'm also an inexhaustible source of historical anecdotes, having grown up selling Civil War relics back home in Gettysburg.
