Subjects covered: tracking all stages of the annual appropriations process, communications covering significant authorization legislation, and agency actions that impacted the computing research community (examples include research security, STEM education, open access, and other agency actions). Told by multiple Congressional staff and sister org colleagues that they found my writings to be a useful resource.- Took lead in planning and managing multiple Congressional Visit Days, where CRA members went to offices of their Congressional delegations to advocate issues of importance. Organized, managed, and trained volunteers and staff to accomplish the goals and objectives. Duties include recruiting CRA members; contacting Congressional offices to schedule meetings; draft, edit, and produce advocacy materials; and instruct and train participants in how to have an effective meetings.- Took lead in managing logistics and materials for multiple outside events, most significant being 4 Leadership in Science Policy Institute (LiSPI) workshops where researchers from the computing research community took part in a 1.5 day crash course in how federal policy is formulated and how researchers can impact the process. Responsibilities included location and hotel selection, point of contact for speakers and attendees, authoring materials used during the workshop, and assisting with execution of the workshop.

I regularly communicated with members to meet committee needs; planned three yearly meetings of the committees; and compiled minutes of the meetings.- Developed a social media strategy for the Washington Office.- Maintained and updated the Washington Office webpage. - Research Congressional Record, federal agencies, and major news outlets for information needed to support the mission of the Society.
