In my position as an Account Executive at Pinkston, I have worked with the presidents, CEOs, and communications directors of nonprofit clients to generate increased visibility for their organizations, secure media interviews across a broad span of media outlets, and help identify and address their key audiences. My work includes being the subject matter expert on communications for clients, providing messaging guidance and crisis support, and being the liaison between members of the press and client spokespeople. My job is to tell both comprehensive and compelling stories for my clients while ensuring accurate and timely communications to both internal and external audiences.Working with the media necessitates an attitude of flexibility that I love, and my role as an Account Executive often includes quickly adapting to changing priorities, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and working collaboratively with my colleagues to achieve the best outcome possible. I have also researched, written, and edited extensively in my role at Pinkston, including op-eds, press releases, daily reports, and strategic communications plans. I help to meet the strategic communications needs of our clients at every level and strive to help them communicate effectively in times of crisis as well as the day-to-day.

As an Account Coordinator at Pinkston, my work primarily consisted of daily client management, which included pitching to the media and coordinating interviews, writing and distributing press releases, building and maintaining media relationships and helping with general messaging and editing. In this role, I frequently provided oversight on client accounts and met with them weekly to discuss progress in public relations objectives.

My role as a Strategic Communications Fellow at Pinkston was a support-centered role, in which I assisted with reports, drafted social media copy, pitched client stories to the media, and frequently edited documents from colleagues. I also drafted the entirety of a website copy in this role through extensive research, weekly meetings with the client, and writing the copy while integrating feedback from the client.

Cultivated leadership skills in a development program designed to integrate recent college graduates into the working world through service and leadership courses.

As president of this organization, I led student-athletes in hosting campus-wide events, attending meetings with other executives from schools in our league, and voting on national legislature.

As a summer development intern, I conducted member outreach and development, often making calls to potential donors, renewing subscriptions, and managing event outreach for online conversations. I also executed a variety of research projects in many different areas, including works for an art curriculum and literature rights for a new publication. I often contacted many different organizations to acquire permissions for nonprofit publications, including music, art, and literature. I also assisted in editing quarterly reading publications, all the while attending company meetings and giving input on larger projects for the organization.

Through working as a counselor for high schoolers, I learned to work well with those in authority above me and respect those I was placed in charge of. I grew in communication skills, teaching, and on-the-spot critical thinking skills through the fast-pace of working at the largest summer camp in the world.
