- The UA Early-Career Research Administration Fellowship (ECRAF) is a year-long fellowship in the Office for Research & Economic Development (ORED) designed to provide selected students with the experience and training necessary to explore a career in Research Administration.- Fellowship Area: Office for Sponsored Programs || OSP services support faculty and other employees with proposal preparation, review, and submission; award acceptance and administrative changes; and serves as a liaison with external sponsors.Projects: (1) Developed standardized pre- and post-award SOPs for grants and contracts specialists, including SOPs for proposal preparation, proposal submission, post-submission pre-award revisions, award setup, award amendment, and post-award reporting requirements.(2) Constructed a report that was used to determine restructuring of OSP Specialist department assignments. For each department at the University of Alabama, determined the total number of proposals and awards, and their monetary values, submitted in the past three years (via Cayuse SP reporting portal); determined the frequency of each federal, state, and local sponsor UA principal investigators submitted proposals to, and received awards from, in the past three years; and constructed a report that quantitatively showed the current division of work among the Specialists in the Office. Used this data to more equally divide the workload/department-load amongst each Specialist.
