She has been involved in basic scientific research and sponsored programs administration; preclinical operations and compliance; study development and clinical research management; and communications, business development, and market research, all within or connected to the biotechnology industry. Coupling this external work experience with internal university coursework, Brooke has gained both academic knowledge and industry involvement, allowing her to maintain a big-picture perspective of the biotech industry yet stay immersed in the details of each individual pipeline function.Above all, Brooke strives toward continual growth and loves challenging herself to think in different ways through multiple frames of reference. For each department at the University of Alabama, determined the total number of proposals and awards, and their monetary values, submitted in the past three years (via Cayuse SP reporting portal); determined the frequency of each federal, state, and local sponsor UA principal investigators submitted proposals to, and received awards from, in the past three years; and constructed a report that quantitatively showed the current division of work among the Specialists in the Office. Used this data to more equally divide the workload/department-load amongst each Specialist.
