Played a key role as part of the team tasked for the start-up of the Universal Pictures operation in Brazil, being responsible for the Sales, Programming and Trade Marketing departments. Managed and coordinated the hiring and assembly of the entire Sales and Operations team and also in the selection of candidates for the Financial team. Led the process of implementing the programming and billing system, successfully defining its standards and adaptations for the local market. Main accomplishments include the reach of all-time record gross revenues for Universal Brazil in 2017, through the adoption of new commercial terms, innovative Trade Marketing campaigns, a win-win strategy that strengthened the relationship with exhibitors, and the consolidation of the commercial operation, improving the flow of billings and accelerating the receivables. For four months (Jun to Sep 2021) I worked on both operations (Brazil and México), as I was tasked with helping to close down the Brazil office operations during that period and then moving on to Mexico. I am currently in Mexico, managing the local Sales and Programming team and also playing an active role in strategic decision-making on the board of Universal México directors.

Managed the Sales department as a main area of expertise, overseeing the Operations and Trade Marketing Departments. During this period, Paramount ranked #1 distributor of the year in 2007, 2008 and 2011, reaching the highest gross box office among all major distributors in the market. Several successful releases include the first 3 Marvel Studios films in Brazil (Iron Man, Captain America and Thor), Elite Squad (LP), Fast 4, 5 and 6, Despicable Me 1 and 2, Shrek 3 and 4 and Madagascar 2 and 3, among other big hits.

In charge of Sales, Business Intelligence and Planning the releases from Paramount, Universal and DreamWorks Studios. During this period, I was also overseeing the branch office of the UIP in São Paulo city, since the head office was in Rio de Janeiro. Several successful releases of this period include the Shrek 2, Shark Tale and first Madagascar movie for DreamWorks, King Kong, Mission Impossible 3 and War of The Worlds, among others.

Active participation at the establishment of the Cinemark Operation in Brazil, with a pre-opening intensive training in Dallas/USA from October 1996 to February 1997, that included intense integration in all processes – planning, billing, training, programming and operation. Back to Brazil, we began the start-up of the operation and the implementation of the theatre multiplex concept in the territory. Helping to implement the common processes and globalization methodology in all areas of the organization, I led the whole Operation Department, working also closely with Booking and Goods Purchasing managers. During this period, I managed approximately 60 theatre managers and 300 operational employees, promoting their development and empowerment.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Training process in Dallas USA for four months, before the operations began in Brazil. During this period, I worked in several areas of the business, learning the interface between cinemas and head office in Dallas. Being there, had the important opportunity to get knowledge from a different cultural point of view of the business, as well as the special chance to exchange ideas and expertise with some American colleagues.
