In 1999, as Y2K loomed and the world was at relative peace, I transitioned from focusing on international affairs to becoming a digital strategist. It seemed logical at the time – the Cold War was over and the .com revolution had begun. Over the last 25 years, I have become a leader in the digital content strategy field through my work, by sharing knowledge through articles and talks, and co-authoring the book "Designing Connected Content: Plan and Model Digital Products for Today and Tomorrow" (Pearson, 2018).Throughout the 21st century, I’ve helped all types of organizations and the federal government use digital communication to engage with their audience.I am a better operations director because I have a track record of aligning digital communication strategies to business goals while fostering cross-functional collaboration and building sustainable operational improvements. Content is how businesses manifest themselves (1), and I’ve seen it across dozens of domains.
