Currently I am an Engineer/Prototyper and Pilot in the Electric Motors Group at Beta Technologies. So stoked to join such a vibrant, growing organization that is going to not only change Aviation well into the 21st century but is dedicated to making flying and all that is involved in aviation more sustainable. I’m bringing all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over my 40 year career to this new gig. Prior to Beta I enjoyed 24 years at Burton Snowboards, ending my career there as the Rapid Prototype Engineer running the Craig Kelly RP Lab. Skilled & experienced at various Additive Manufacturing Technologies (FDM, Polyjet, Laser Sintering) and reasonably skilled at CAD design using Siemens NX. I am a named inventor on 17 Patents for various snowboard Binding & Boot innovations, most recently one of 4 on Step On. I have a very diverse career history including 6 years of being a rock & roll roadie (sound, lights & stage building, stage/show management for around 250 gigs...good fun & decent money while in college), apprentice aviation mechanic (3 summers), motorcycle mechanic & service writer (5 summers), Roadie/Instructor with the Ski Mechanic’s Workshops, one of the founders of GRINDrite and a multi-time published writer for Transworld Snowboarding and other snowboarding mags.
