Instructing the IB Chemistry and Honors Chemistry curricula as well as participating in the WPS community by mentoring organization and supporting WPS programs. I also serve as the lead mentor for the school’s Orange County 4-H FRC Robotics team.

I have taught lecture and lab for CHEM 111 and 112 (General Chemistry) for approximately 800 students. I have also taken part in many areas of curriculum development including modifying the chemistry associates degree to meet the 60-credit limit for A.S. degrees established by the state of Maryland, reviewing chemistry courses (CHEM 100, 111, 112, and 114) to meet updated general education requirements for HCC, creating a new compressed transitional math curriculum for both STEM and non-STEM majors, and developing energy literacy/solar energy and spectroscopy modules that were taught as part of our STEM Teaching and STEM Summer Student Bridge Academies, respectively. I also served on many college committees such as the Academic Policies Committee, the Academic Appeals Committee, the FYE Across the STEM Curriculum Committee, the STEM Study Skills Committee, the Print Management Task Force, the Transitional Math Curriculum Work Group, and several Tenure-Track Faculty Search Committees (Transitional Math, Biology, and Chemistry).

I taught lecture and lab sections for CHEM 111 and 112 (General Chemistry) as well as BIO 099 (Biology for Allied Health). I also developed and taught a spectroscopy module taught as part of our STEM Teaching Academy and STEM Student Summer Bridge Program.

As a graduate research assistant, I maintained and optimized gas and solid-state lasers for use in various spectroscopic techniques and the feasibility of their uses as chemical-based sensors. I investigated the feasibility of dual-pulse laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy for the analysis of high-pressure and high-temperature bulk aqueous solutions using spectroscopic measurements as well as shadowgraphic imaging techniques. I worked on developing a sensitive fiber optic Raman probe capable of monitoring gas mixtures in real time using a highly reflective sample cell combined with filtering of the fiber probe. I helped create a spatial heterodyne spectrometer (interferometric spectrometer for use in Raman spectroscopy (standoff, UV and pure rotational measurements).
