ICON Computing Solutions was a leading value-added provider of Tier-One technologies manufactured by IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, Computer Associates and others. ICON’s core business initially started with IBM System X servers, storage and services. My initial responsibility was to construct a server room where we may showcase many of IBM’s products and services to our clients.Quickly we branched out into the mobile market as a reseller for Lenovo, Fujitsu, Panasonic and ICON’s proprietary name brand, LINAC. Ultimately the mobile market took ICON into medical point-of-care carts. ICON’s POC carts required me to conduct extensive research into portable, low power solutions to be integrated into the carts. This research included high efficiency power solutions, thin clients and peripherals. In addition to the POC cart I produced detailed product brochures with illustrations and specifications for each model. Some of these brochures are available for demonstration below.ICON gave me multiple opportunities to branch out and touch various technology sectors. Not only was I heavily involved in hardware servicing and research, but I was also involved in the logistics side of the business.
