Designed and implemented a custom NFS server in userspace for the OneFS distributed file system, focusing on online performance profiling, management and general usability.Implemented the Network Status Monitor protocol on OneFS, allowing the NFS server to protect against lock loss in a distributed environment, a key component for continuous availability and graceful failover. Maintained all administrative interfaces for NFS, including a CLI and Platform API for configuration management, various on-cluster scripts to manage state and track performance, and an internal protocol to extract information from the live server. Developed major changes to the build system, reducing pain points and increasing engineering velocity.Guided the NFS and SMB teams (~15 people) through the transition from SVN to Git, assisted in developing the official Git workflow, and served as a general Git guru.Authored on-cluster NFS man pages, and collaborated with technical writers on published documentation.Delivered technical presentations to large audiences at recruiting events across the country.

Coordinated the research, design and implementation of a neural network in C to detect tempos in music, and compared results to traditional algorithmic approaches. Presented research in the Purdue Undergraduate Research and Poster Symposium in April 2011.

Designed lab projects, maintained a website for student use and conducted a weekly lab section for a course in Java programming. Tasks included short presentations on the subject matter, debugging code, trouble-shooting embedded systems, and grading completed assignments.

Developed drivers for Windows Mobile devices in C# using Microsoft libraries. Worked on strict deadlines with large teams.

Protected customers through vigilance and preventative measures, taught swim lessons to patrons, ensured proper chemical and thermal balance in pool and resolved customer issues. Winner of 2010 Employee Recognition Award for duties performed during an emergency.

Led high school students in designing and building a competitive robot, implemented an innovative, modular electronics box and programmed the robot in Java using the Netbeans IDE as well as LabVIEW to drive, kick and lift itself using a wide variety of IO systems.
