At U.C. Berkeley, I studied material properties and their application in medical device industry with a strong emphasis on the interaction at the interface between living systems and man-made devices at the. Both my coursework and undergrad research experience exposed me to material selection principles and rigorous device design criteria necessary to ensure product's functionality and patient's safety.I think Bioengineering is a major that demands a rather comprehensive understanding of physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Despite the mentally-challenging nature of these disciplines which often exhausts the brightest of students, I continually find new knowledge refreshing to learn and to apply in a safe manner. As a consequent of my eagerness to pick up new skills, my interest spans over a wide range of disciplines, and my goal is to be able to interconnect the knowledge in each of those disciplines and attain a better understanding of the universe in general and the human existence in specific.I see an education as the most important asset a person can possess. I strongly believe that knowledge and experience allows anyone to move upward in the socioeconomic ladder. I faced hardship when I immigrated to the U.S. 6 years ago, so I highly value opportunities that can lead to a less turbulent life for me and my family. With the motivation for a better future and work ethics developed from interacting with like-minded people, I am prepared to solve difficult challenges with an open mind ready to integrate knowledge across multiple disciplines.
