I helped out with Fontaine Land surveying for the month of May. I set up tripods with the prism and the gun attached and I used the gun enough times to get comfortable with it. I held the rod with the prism for Mike while he took shots and helped him with measurements.

Land owners donated a 1600 acre property for conservation in Tamworth, New Hampshire. Joan and I had to walk throughout the property finding boundary lines and boundary corners while mapping them with a Garmin GPS unit. The maps that were given to us were dated so we basically had to remap the whole 1600 acre property. I mapped bridges, barbed wire fences, streams, stone walls, lakes and anything that was important to the land being conserved.

Worked with the Environmental Science/GIS coordinator for the town of JamestownUsed ArcMap and ArcCatalog extensively and was able to apply my GIS skills to real problems on a town level.Collected water samples within Sheffield Cove, Jamestown in order to find pollutants. Also used lab equipment to check pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Salinity, and Temperature of the water within the sample areasCollected data with a Trimble unit for various projects that dealt with determining sewer manhole positions, mapping hiking trails for the public, determining safe sidewalk conditions, collecting data on outfalls and culverts, and solving problems that citizens of Jamestown explain to the town hall.
