Former hospitality professional turned enthusiastic back-end software engineer, I am in the process of applying years of service industry and management experience to a new career in tech. My academic passion while I pursued my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Colorado was language, and I completed my undergrad in 2011 with a double major in English and Spanish. My professional career has mainly consisted of service industry positions, and I left my role as general manager and administrative assistant to begin an engineering program at Turing in March of 2022. My previous career specialties include personnel management, accounting(A/R and A/P), and payroll. Outside of career ambitions and academia, my true passion is the natural world. Prior to attending Turing, I spent time each week volunteering at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science in the prep lab where I prepared specimens for both bird and mammal collections. Contributing to the scientific community gives me a sense of purpose, and I look forward to returning to the lab after graduation.
