I’ve reviewed many thousands of names, images, maps, code names, corporate literature, packages, graphics, videos, games, photographs and more to identify potential issues before release, and written hundreds of risk summaries with suggested changes and… Show more I’ve been part of the Geopolitical / Global Readiness team in Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing group. Everything from enterprise software to entertainment content ran through me for review for potential geopolitical risk worldwide. I’ve reviewed many thousands of names, images, maps, code names, corporate literature, packages, graphics, videos, games, photographs and more to identify potential issues before release, and written hundreds of risk summaries with suggested changes and creative approaches to mitigate the possible risks. I managed the process to create global market guidelines, and created an online bank of information from different regions. I indirectly managed five vendor Localization Program Managers and 75 linguist terminologists doing globalization and localizability reviews, and managed the vendor relationship, SOWs, budgets and invoice approvals.I compiled frequently raised topics into Knowledge Base articles, wrote and presented brown bags on how to select and review names, and assisted with geopol training sessions. To review code, I worked with PoliCheck, which evaluates for potential issues in 40 languages and needs to be reviewed, documented, researched, ranked and added to the terminology database.
