I moved to Wilmington in January 1973 as a sophomore at UNC-W. Originally from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, I moved with my family to Durham, NC in 1967. I am a 1988 graduate of UNC-CH and earned my Virginia Real Estate License in 1989, North Carolina Real Estate Salesman License in 1990, and NC Brokers License in 2003. I am a REALTOR® and belong to the Cape Fear Realtors®Association. My experience includes Residential Real Estate sales/investing; Television Advertising Sales; Security Alarm Systems design/sales; and Restaurant Management. For additional training & education, I’ve earned the following professional designations: "Graduate, REALTORS® Institute" (GRI); Council of Residential Specialists (CRS); e-PRO Technology Training Program (e-Pro); and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES). My community service includes the Wilmington Golf Course Advisory Committee; the New Hanover County Port, Beaches, & Waterway Commission; The First Tee Golf program of Wilmington. From 2009-2010 I served on the New Hanover County Board of Equalization & Review and as Chairman in 2011-2012, and the New Hanover County Comprehensive Plan Policy Recommendation Committee. I am currently serving as a Director for the National Association of Realtors® & also am a Past President for Cape Fear Realtors® and past Director for the North Carolina Association of Realtors®. My wife, Lynn, is a CCIM Commercial Real Estate Broker with Berkshire Hathaway Coastal Properties. Our son is a CPA with Elliot Davis in Ralegh, NC. Our family enjoys golf, snow skiing, boating/fishing, swimming, baseball, and of course, the beautiful beaches close to Wilmington.
