I am a geologist that has applied my understanding of state and federal regulations through writing technical reports and performing environmental sampling under the purview of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST), and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) programs. Since graduating from The University of Iowa with degrees in Geoscience and Environmental Policy and Planning, I have conducted groundwater and soil sampling for contaminated sites across Illinois and performed over 30 solid/hazardous waste compliance investigations in South Dakota. Through these investigations and inspections, I enjoy collaborating with various public and private stakeholders to reach effective and practical environmental solutions. My experience in these positions has also incorporated and enhanced my skills in core logging, ArcGIS, RStudio, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual presentations. Outside of work, my current academic endeavor involves the development and defense of a thesis titled Using Geospatial Analyses to Identify Contaminant Source Area and Transport of a PFAS Plume at the Sandy Hollow Groundwater Contamination Site in Winnebago County, Illinois, which I plan to defend as part of my M.S. Environmental Sciences degree from The University of Illinois Springfield in Spring 2023.
