About Evan Johnson
Hello! I’m a composer interested in the relationship between music and narrative, bringing my loves of literature, drama, and film to my music. I mainly work in the theatre, however I have also worked on some films and games. Recent credits include music preparation for Fountain of You (Virginia Beach 2022), the workshop and premieres of Matthew Hardy's musical Virtuoso (New York 2019 and Poland 2020), additional orchestrations for StarKid: Homecoming (Los Angeles 2019).I am currently working on the score for the new musical The Scars of Your Body with New York-based playwright Valerie Work. I was a recipient of the 2019 New Voices Award from New Musicals, Inc., sponsored by Walt Disney Imagineering. I am an alumnus of The Walden School, a summer program for young composers in Dublin, New Hampshire. I graduated with my BFA in Composition from the California Institute of the Arts in 2019.
