The Charles Sturt University Industry Hubs was an innovative initiative located on multiple campuses aimed at fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and experimentation within the institution. The Industry Hubs would have served as a space for interdisciplinary research, knowledge exchange, and practical application of the latest ideas, empowering students, faculty, and staff to collaboratively address real-world challenges. The program aimed to offer a vibrant ecosystem for businesses, entrepreneurs, startups, multinational organisations, government agencies, students and researchers, to co-locate and collaborate in modern flexible workspaces.My role was to help with the creation of the hubs, develop an operating model for them, recommend the technology used in the spaces, like booking systems, video conferencing, networking and access control. The role was a 2-year contract.

During that time, we moved to a more community base co-working hub and hired a community manager to help with the running of the space.This was very much a time of learning and professional career growth, dealing with a board for the first time, trying to balance the operations of the space during the pandemic, but also maintain growth in memberships.
