👋🏻 Howdy, Heather here! I LOVE solving puzzles, critical thinking, and strategizing. I look for ways to streamline efforts and create efficient processes. My experience in education has reinforced my superpower: constant analysis, anticipating areas of need, and filling in that gap for things to run smoothly. 🤠 Texas born and Aggie raised - WHOOP! I can balance a checkbook and then lead and load cattle - in the same day. I embrace the crazy in life - it's my family! My immediate family includes my kids, dogs, and coffee. My workday companion is my Goldendoodle, Cooper. 🤹🏼‍♀️ High school and beyond: I worked supporting my family owned Construction Company: accounts payables, receivables, payroll, etc. I joined a law firm supporting executives and interfacing with clients. I maintained inventory at the largest cell phone store in Houston. My interest in helping others began when my brother sustained a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. I became an advocate for people with special needs and his full-time attendant. 🧠Higher education in my family means Texas A&M University - Whoop! I began my journey as a Education major with a Special Education emphasis - I started my teaching career as a SPED teacher. I went on to specialize in math, providing intervention to students (and teachers)! In order to help even more children and teachers, I became team leader. I ushered my team into digital /remote learning - cementing my love of technology, teaching, and remote engagement. 🔥 Now: I am applying my analytical skills and mathematical knowledge to human resources compensation and benefits work as an Associate Technical Consultant at Cura. I attained my aPHR certification in May 2023. My learning journey continues as I work towards my Certified Compensation Professional | CCP. My experience has allowed me to hone many skills, including: data analysis, teaching, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills. I have gained experience and compassion in dealing with a diverse array of people. Teaching both in-person and online also involved significant use of technology alongside face-to-face interaction. I'm excited about being in a role where I can make a big impact!
