Business Development Manager
CurrentAs Business Development Manager, I work with customers that fall outside of RouteSmart’s traditional verticals. These organizations include online retailers, door-to-door distribution groups, food delivery services, courier services, and others.These organizations represent a few of many developing markets for RouteSmart, which I’m tasked with nurturing. We enjoy working with groups ranging from small to large and regional to nationwide to help them achieve field service operational excellence in the arena of vehicle and personnel routing and scheduling.I take pride in knowing RouteSmart’s software inside and out. I work closely with my colleagues to create models and business cases so a prospective customer can get a solid idea of how our products will help them. I help my prospects determine if a RouteSmart solution matches their routing requirements and budget constraints, and, once they’ve committed to one of our solutions, help them adapt to the technology so they can get maximize the return on their investment.Day-to-day responsibilities include making sales calls, following up on inquiries, demo building and participating in proposal writing. I occasionally get to do project work, relying both on my knowledge base as well as RouteSmart’s strong team of Implementation Consultants. I take a strong customer focus in my business development efforts, which span not only the pre-sales period but post-sales as well.When I initially joined RouteSmart, I was Business Development Manager for our newspaper market. One of my proudest accomplishments in that capacity was establishing a business relationship with Gannett Publishing Services as our first Enterprise newspaper client for our hosted RouteSmart Online® solution, developing the relationship over a six-year period through working with their individual publications and taking them to full deployment for over 70+ publications.
