My journey in the world of UX began with a keen interest in understanding how users interact with products and services, and finding ways to improve those experiences through thoughtful design.Having spent nearly a decade at Zingerman's Roadhouse, I have worn multiple hats as a Lead Server, Administrator, member of the Governance Committee, as well as leading the charge on survey-based analytics (Net Promoter Score). My role as an administrator has equipped me with organizational and decision-making skills that are critical to UX design projects. Furthermore, managing customer survey initiatives has offered me valuable insights into consumer behavior, enabling me to apply this understanding to create user-centered design strategies. My approach to UX design is interdisciplinary, drawing from my experience in the hospitality industry, where every interaction matters, and each touchpoint is an opportunity to delight, inspire, and engage. I also represent the Roadhouse in the "Zingerman's Governance Committee", a committee that works on the continuity of Zingerman's as a community of businesses, establishing employee ownership, public ownership, refining organizational policy, and overseeing the process of staff partner selection. I facilitate a group called, "Service group" in which we talk about tips around service to our guests as well as collaborating to enact organizational change. Through service group I draft a variety of different documents such as BLCs (Bottom-line change, the Zingerman's procedure for enacting change) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) which both help improve our systems of service and operation, as well as document procedures that require a standard. -

At Zingerman's Roadhouse my position called "lead server", this is a server that also has the responsibility of a supervisor and are expected to maintain a standard of professionalism, availability, and competence. These responsibilities include training new staff, checking side work completion, managing labor costs, and being a leader in general. I also spend time in the catering department, this would include: catering weddings, delivering food, setting up events, corresponding with potential and current customers. -
