About Joanne Sprague
Senior social impact programs and partnerships leader with experience in the corporate and social sectors and a bias for action. Passionate about using the power of markets to address the world's biggest challenges.I love building things from the ground up - programs, partnerships, campaigns - and taking them to scale. I'm good at making order out of chaos and turning rough concepts into reality. I consider myself a generalist, collaborating with others to do what it takes to bring things to life, and in the process I've built some expertise in product strategy, marketing, partnerships, community management, operations, and data analysis.I'm currently the Director of Everlaw for Good, the social impact initiative of a fast-growing legal tech startup. Everlaw for Good aims to level the playing field for justice - an urgent need in a country where 92% of civil legal problems encountered by low-income people go unresolved. We offer Everlaw's products at free and highly discounted rates to legal nonprofits, pro bono cases, investigative journalists, and educators to help litigators for the public good get to the truth efficiently and cost-effectively.Prior to Everlaw, I spent 8 years in social impact at Facebook/Meta. I helped build the company’s first suite of social impact products and programs, co-led the launch of its first community philanthropy fund, and oversaw a team that built programs focused on nonprofits, equity, and climate change. During my time at the company nearly 500 million people were connected to a nonprofit on Facebook's platforms, raising more than $7 billion for causes they cared about; our team provided support resources for more than 2 million social change organizations and directly served over 3,000 of them. I also worked on the team that helped bring affordable internet access to more than 100 million people in emerging markets through partnerships with mobile network operators, working with over 80 partners across APAC, EMEA, and Latin America. Before Facebook, I worked at a much smaller scale as the CEO of a nonprofit startup that worked to improve LGBTQ+ inclusion in workplaces and schools by educating and activating allies. My background is in international development, and I have lived and worked in Kenya, India, and Nicaragua.
Listed skills include Social Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Nonprofits, International Development, and 24 others.
