CBS technical operations for On-Air promotions - design and implement cloud based workflow automation for CBS video assets. Workflows include ingest, edit, review, and delivery to broadcast.On March 2, the first employee at ViacomCBS came down with COVID-19. It shut down the network broadcast center in New York for three days while they did a deep cleaning. The network was broadcast out of CBS Television City in Los Angeles during that time. On Friday, March 6, the company asked all non-essential employees to work from home. I led the team of technicians and with the help of Avid technical staff and Microsoft staff, we created 35 Avid non linear editing VMs with Teradici PCoIP, migrated terabytes of source material to new Avid Nexis in Cloud, and deployed required plugins, license servers and support VMs by the following Monday. We were able to create On Air promotions from source ingest to final color corrected and audio sweetened masters as if our entire staff were still at TVC.
