The goal of this research is to make Fishery Management Plans more adaptable to climate change.Research includes:a. Analyzing fishery databases, climate science, and current legislation. b. Theorizing new and improved management strategies based on current climate science with a focus on sustainability management. ii. Completed my own Undergraduate Honor Thesis on: How will California’s Market Squid Fishery be Economically Impacted by Climate Change? a. Regression analysis of sea surface temperature and dissolved oxygen content on landing numbers in order to create an economic forecast on how climate change will impact the fishery and subsequent coastal communities. b. Management suggestions are made for the fishery moving forward.c. Presented findings at the UC Davis Undergraduate Research Conference and received a certificate for outstanding academic achievement.
