I am a Team Leader in a Mechanized Infantry Company within a Combined Arms Battalion. I am responsible for the health, moral, welfare and discipline of 8 soldiers. I conduct individual and collective training in accordance with an established mission essential task list. I have been deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom twice in both Afghanistan and Africa. I have recently been assigned as the company’s, Armorer. I am responsible for the operational readiness and accountability of over $2 million worth of weapons, vehicles and ancillary equipment. In this position, I also instruct soldiers on proper care and maintenance of all their assigned equipment and maintain hand-receipts for all property issued locally and while deployed overseas.I am truly passionate about my work and always eager to learn new things. Colleagues know me as an extremely hard working dependable leader able to adapt quickly to changing work environments and responsibilities. I am entirely capable of operating independently with minimal supervision, but I’m at my best when collaborating with others.I have a Nursing Assistant Certification from Florida Technical College (graduated June 2010) and worked as a private home care provider before I entered the military. Although I love serving in the military I am very excited and optimistic about this next chapter in my life.
