I worked on two project for one principal investigator. The first project focused on evaluating outbreak preparedness of countries in the Eastern Mediterranean. I conducted primary literary analysis and evaluated health systems via Key Performance Indicators of countries for the WHO. I was asked to work on a second project where I received raw data from two countries (Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of the Congo). I qualitatively analyzed focus group discussions and conducted logistic regression to quantitatively evaluated data via STATA. This resulted in data contributions to 2 future publications.

Selected to join a small team of undergraduates in analyzing the social determinants of health for Addison County Vermont. Through this project I met with focus groups, analyzed collected survey data within SPSS, and conducted primary and secondary source analysis. This project culminated in a research presentation in a Middlebury College symposium.

Worked for Professor Zhai in the neuroscience department in an epidemiological study examining the prevalence of youth drinking habits to find correlation with later vaping use and other risky behaviors. Data came from the Youth Risk Behavioral Survey of Connecticut and was analyzed using SPSS. This project culminated in a research presentation in a Middlebury College symposium.

An online internship, offered through the School of International Training (SIT), I was able to continue my research from the previous semester (Spring 2020). I cultivated biostatistical infectious disease epidemiological skills and enhanced my knowledge of KEMRI's infectious disease epidemiology department protocols. This virtual summer internship culminated in a comprehensive research report and a virtual presentation of Tuberculosis in Eastern Africa to KEMRI and local hospital staff.
