  • Pcma
    Creative Director
    Pcma Jul 2018 - May 2020
    Chicago, Il
As PCMA's creative director, I was responsible for cultivating how a global audience saw our organization and visually communicating our values and vision. I managed and art directed event photographers and videographers to help tell our brand story around the world. With my team, I developed Brand Guidelines that were incorporated in all things PCMA. Whether I was working on a website wireframe, social media advertising and magazine ads, convention booth design, or senior leadership presentations, I made sure that PCMA's message of transformation left an indelible impression on the business events industry. Some of my most memorable projects included branding for the European Influencers Summit (#PCMAEIS) and our Asia Pacific Annual Conference (#PCMAAC), EduCon (#PCMAEC) and all the in-house work for PCMA Convening Leaders (#PCMACL).

  • Chicago Tribune Media Group
    Editor/Designer
Chicago Tribune Media Group May 2008 - Jan 2016
    Chicago, Il
I worked as a copy editor/designer for the Tribune's features sections and module creation. I've handled arts & entertainment, business, health, food, family and home content areas, and was most recently the designer for the Homes section. Previously, I helped lead a team in Chicago that produced pages for other newspapers in Tribune Co., coordinating with editors in those newsrooms to design and edit their local content. I also served as the Tribune's lead Business section designer. Before being hired at the Tribune, I was a part-time designer for RedEye.
  • The Washington Post
    Design Director, Style Section
The Washington Post Mar 2007 - Apr 2008
    Washington, D.C.
I supervised the layout of daily pages and served as the principal designer of our weekly arts and culture section. I managed a staff of five and coordinated with photo, the art and graphics department, copy editors, writers and assignment editors to create centerpieces and offlede presentations. I also worked with ad makeup to make space requests and set ad configurations. In April 2007, with the art department’s Dennis Brack, I began prototyping for a merger of our Sunday features and arts sections. After collaborating with Style’s leadership, presenting the design to the Post’s top editors, fine-tuning and focus-grouping, Style&Arts launched in August 2007. For this section, I designed the cover, inside pages and a weekly doubletruck, and contributed ideas for display type.
