Successful musicians are entrepreneurs. Each cultivates a diverse network, commits to self-improvement, leverages opportunities, and monetizes their product. They communicate and express themselves creatively while subject to constantly changing conditions. They rely on acumen and resilience. The overlap is fundamental. So, to me, it makes sense to integrate them. As Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Boston Festival Orchestra, I draw on those parallels to help me ensure that the organization serves its mission and deepens its roots within the community. Simply put, that means engaging Boston’s world class talent and sharing it with the city. In addition to my work with BFO, I am a professional clarinetist and educator working with the Boston Lyric Opera, New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, North End Music & Performing Arts Center, and more. I am passionate about my work both onstage and off, and love the challenges that each role poses. My objective as a musician is to connect with audiences through high-quality music. As a businessman, it is to provide an overwhelmingly positive experience for everyone in the BFO community. Ultimately, in doing both, I hope to contribute to the rich culture of the City of Boston in a meaningful way.
