I am privileged to lead Alcohol Change UK. We exist to end alcohol harm without ending the fun. We want to see a country where the decision to consume alcohol is a free choice (free from incessant marketing and free from peer pressure) and is made with the full information about its risks. We want to see proper regulation of alcohol pricing, marketing, labelling and availability. And we want to see retailers, hospitality venues, event organisers and workplaces positively include those people who choose not to consume alcohol.

I am an active member of the wonderful parents co-operative that is St Albans District Woodcraft Folk, helping children and young people to learn and grow in a fun and co-operative group that emphasises positive social and environmental change. I was Deputy District Coordinator from February 2015 to Feb 2017 and District Coordinator from Feb 2023 to present; but enjoy most of all running sessions for the elfins (age 6-9), pioneers (10-12) and venturers (13-15) and designing and running the programme of fun for our District Camps.

I worked with a great board and wonderful colleagues to transform this fantastic charity from a medically-focused grantmaker into a child-centred charity that combined frontline service delivery with grantmaking. I led our strategic transformation, closing some programmes, transforming others, and creating new ones. I led on programmes and policy, was the public face of the charity, oversaw HR, finances, fundraising, communications, and jumped out of a plane dressed as an Oompa-Loompa.
