The goals of the FAILSAFE Program are to ensure timely installation and appropriate use of new or modified aircrew systems. This is a critical aspect of operational readiness and helps to ensure that aircrew and maintenance personnel receive proper training on the use and maintenance of new or modified systems. When new or modified survival gear is introduced, FAILSAFE Tiger Teams are deployed to the appropriate commands and provide on-site interaction with maintenance personnel. This interaction gives the maintainers a chance to ask questions as well as receive training on techniques require to accomplish the various fitting, assembly, and repair of ALSS items. In cooperation with local AMSOs, FAILSAFE Tiger Teams can also provide training for aircrew.
