I started Urban Glue with the objective of providing consulting, project management, and software and data development services for different customers. I maintain strong relationships with my clients, and I work with them to understand their business processes, prepare and present proposed solutions, and deliver products that meet their needs. A few of the projects I completed are:• Cisco/NASA Planetary Skin Institute – I provided project management and technical leadership for the Planetary Skin Institute’s big data geospatial infrastructure which housed over 10 million land disturbance detections. The objective of this effort was to create near real-time monitoring of deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. This innovative project was selected as one of the Top 50 Best Inventions by Time Magazine in 2009 (https://tinyurl.com/v6nyv35v).• CH2M Hill – I developed a web-based application to track sustainability KPIs for city governments around the world. The application was converted from a complex dashboard framework implemented using MS Excel based spreadsheets. I managed a team of international developers to meet project deliverables where we designed, developed, and tested the applications to ensure performance metrics met requirements. • Cisco Urban EcoMap Smart Cities Solution. I provided lifecycle services which included project management, requirements gathering, data and application development, application support and maintenance. I created the calculation engine that converted geospatial data on transportation, electricity, and waste into CO2e values. The objective of this project was to allow decision makers in the City of San Francisco to visualize and plan resource usage alternatives. Solutions Architect/Data Engineer

San Jose, Ca, Us

I am currently working with the U.S. Public Sector Analytics team to streamline business and data activities for Cisco’s Department of Defense customers. I am creating data and analytics solutions that use AI and machine learning to automate business processes for Cisco’s DoD customer accounts. Through this process, I am collaborating with internal and external teams to identify, evaluate, and optimize alternative datasets and approaches.I also designed, built, and currently maintain daily ETL data processing pipelines that aggregate data from different APIs and databases using Python, SQL, Apache Airflow, and PostgreSQL. These data are used by a team of DoD asset managers at Cisco to track metrics and generate reports. I also served as the customer-facing lead for 23 of Cisco’s DoD accounts creating and presenting monthly data metrics and dashboards. I was the primary point-of-contact for the asset tracking application for DoD customers at Cisco. I started working at Cisco as the lead API developer for a data analytics application that integrated data from multiple sources into an easy to use, customer facing suite of dashboards. I also created ETL processes in Python that provided insights on contract usage incorporating data from across the DoD customer organizations.

Co-Founder And Cto

Deephaven, Minnesota, Us

I started Sun Number with the objective of increasing the adoption of rooftop solar by transforming the sales process and reducing customer acquisition costs for solar installers. Our goal was to evaluate every rooftop in the U.S. and assign a solar-suitability grade which determines if each home is sufficient for rooftop solar.I worked with potential customers to understand challenges in the sales process and identify opportunities for improvement. I developed prototypes showcasing a data-driven prequalification approach and presented these concepts to different sales organizations. These initial proofs of concepts were refined based on feedback solicited during a series of customer working sessions. Our proof of concepts served as the foundation for two U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Incubator grants which was a testament to our vision and preliminary work completed with solar installers. I was responsible for writing the grant proposals and presenting the concepts to DOE review panels. I served as the Principal Investigator for both projects ensuring that all milestones and deliverables were on-time and on-budget.Under our DOE grants, I developed Python-based data processing pipelines to analyze 125M buildings which utilized 100 virtual machines hosted in the AWS EC2 cloud. I also created and demonstrated use-case applications to future customers. Throughout this process, I managed a development team that helped create the infrastructure required to meet our business objectives.I continuously worked with customers to identify new opportunities for our data. One significant achievement was our collaboration with Zillow, which lead to Sun Number Scores being listed on their website for every home in the United States. This partnership expanded access to our data and allowed interested homeowners to connect to a local solar installer. The culmination of our efforts came when Sun Number was acquired by Solar-Estimate and SolarReviews in 2019.
