About Sam Clark
I joined eBIC as a PDRA in January 2024, working in Yuriy Chaban’s group. My work focuses on improving data analysis in cryo-EM, exploring innovative approaches for particle picking, denoising, 3d reconstruction, and post processing.I undertook my PhD at the University of Manchester under Prof. Curtis Dobson, where I characterised the activity of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) using SEM and AFM, biophysical techniques, antimicrobial assays, and machine learning to discover sequence – activity relationships in these peptides.I was then a PDRA at the University of York under Prof. Reidun Twarock, where I studied single stranded virus assembly and the interactions between RNA molecules and viral proteins. During my time at York, I also developed several data analysis packages for his lab based collaborators. You can find my latest packages at https://github.com/PsamClark.
