Mark is the account executive for Explore Brevard at Market Connections.  He handles the Transylvania County Tourism Development Authority's account and helps promote sustainable tourism in the county.Prior to joining Market Connections, Mark was the Media Relations Manager of DCI Donor Services which included the three organ procurement organizations (OPOs), Tennessee Donor Services, New Mexico Donor Services and Sierra Donor Services.  In this position, Mark maintained and developed relationships with local media outlets at all three OPO locations. Throughout the year, he pitched stories about donation and transplantation, highlighting the need for more organ, eye and tissue donors as well as the lifesaving work done by clinical staff at the three OPOs. In addition, Mark managed the social media platforms of DCI Donor Services' OPOs and worked with their Public Education teams to assist in outreach efforts and incorporate those efforts in the organizations social media calendar.  For over 12 years, Mark was the Media Relations Coordinator for Sharing Hope SC and Donate Life South Carolina.  As a member of the public relations and community outreach team, he worked with the CEOs of Sharing Hope SC and Donate Life South Carolina to develop strategic plans for media and community relations for both organizations. This involved maintaining and developing relationships with media outlets statewide for coverage. In addition, his role involved donor registry data collection and analytics, assisting in DMV relations and training, helping in the management of the volunteer program, and generating content for social media. Mark also worked closely with the volunteer and special events coordinator on Sharing Hope SC /Donate Life SC major and statewide eventsMark Johnson is also a veteran meteorologist with over 30 years of experience in broadcast meteorology, freelancing for the past 15+ years. Mark has previously worked at WBTV (CBS-Charlotte, NC), WSOC (ABC-Charlotte, NC), WCCB (CW-Charlotte, NC), WJZY (FOX-Charlotte, NC), WSPA (CBS-Spartanburg, SC), WYFF (NBC-Greenville, SC), WHNS (FOX-Greenville, SC), WBIR (NBC-Knoxville, TN), and WIS (NBC-Columbia, SC). Prior to working in television, Mark was a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
