My name is Scott Johnson. I received a Bachelor's degree from Boston University in International Relations with a specialization in environment and development in the Middle East and Africa. Through my course work and time at BU, I was able to diversify my understanding of the climate crisis. Broadening my scope of the issue and its ramifications related to socioeconomic development, energy, policy, and developing technologies has given me the perspective that this is an issue that transcends borders, industry, and culture. I am passionate about the intersection of sustainable development and human capital through the lens of the energy transition, clean tech, and education. In specific, sustainable development related to water infrastructure, energy, waste management, and agriculture are issue areas that of high interest. Mitigation and adaptation technology is on the forefront of combatting the inevitable change associated with worsening global conditions. Certain technologies related to Carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS), DERs, vertical and GMO farming, and other adaptation developments are only becoming more prevalent. It is one of the areas I am looking to become more involved in.While my academic background is focused in international relations theory and professional background in the energy transition and demand response, in 2020 I cofounded a music publishing company titled Jiggy Blue LLC. I am tasked with team and project management, negotiations on bookings, promotions, accounting, and contractual oversight. The company has grown its partner, the band Juniper, over 175,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, 30,000 TikTok followers, and over its lifespan has grossed 12 million streams. Ultimately, my goal is to combine my work and experience with Jiggy Blue and my passion towards the climate crisis. Moving forward, it is important to be involved in companies that understand the intrinsic link between climate change and business. I am excited to use my learned skills to contribute to teams and projects.
