From June of 2007 until February 2015, when there was a change in ownership secondary to unforeseen circumstances, I had transcribed dictations for a group of Perinatologists in the KC area as well as a group of local genetic counselors who worked within the Perinatology office. When there was overflow, I would transcribe dictations for other medical groups as needed such as OBGYN, ENT, Podiatry, Orthopedics, etc. I also have experience with transcribing focus groups, work comp claims, and legal documents. During this time I helped the owner with quality assurance and did editing for new hires and those who needed extra training.

I assisted doctors in the pain clinic with rooming patients, taking vital signs, charting, answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, and other medical assistant and clerical duties.

I scheduled tests for patients such as MRIs, CAT scans, ultrasounds, etc. I also roomed patients, answered phones, made appointments, set up referrals, typed letters, and assisted the family physician I worked with directly with anything she needed, as well as transcribing her dictations.

I worked closely with special education teachers and students to help teach them daily life skills such as cleaning, laundry, etc, as well as helping them create a resume, preparing for interviews, using manners, knowing what was acceptable and not acceptable in their every day life and at school and/or work. I also spoke with parents to keep them involved with their children.
