Performed a wide variety of support in the installation, implementation and maintenance of IT systems, services, and resources. Troubleshoot, maintained, deployed, and replaced desktop computers throughout city government offices. Provided exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Reviewed and evaluated new and/or existing hardware, software and network related equipment. • Helped convert the City from AS400 to a Windows based financial solution• Maintained SQL 2008 databases which included; installing upgrades from files, backing up and recovering the databases, and using custom queries• Planned implementation, set up, and migrated users from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010• Designed a network of a dozen laptops outside the City’s network so they could all access the same database that was hosted on a single laptop for City employees/volunteers to register/check-in the 20,000+ people that participated in the City’s annual event• Created a standalone PC with a startup script to open a browser, log into the website, and then split the screen with a second webpage to monitor usage for the City’s solar panels that all the citizens could see when they entered City Hall• Programmed and replaced Enterasys switches• Set up a new WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) server• Recreated the backup scheme when the original backup server failed using Symantec Backup Exec.• Changed the anti-virus from an unmanaged Symantec to a managed AVG, including setting up the server to manage the installs• Migrated 3 main file servers from 32-bit Windows Server 2003 servers to new 64-bit Windows Server 2008 servers • Created GPOs (Group Policy Objects) to deploy software such as Adobe Flash Player, Microsoft Office, Image Now, and WSUS• Configured SonicWall firewall settings for load balancing between two different Internet connections• Set up a Virtual Exchange server to provide high availability for email accounts
